Malani O’Toole grew up in the remote and scenic fishing town of Cordova, Alaska. She first recorded with "Bearfoot" at age 15. The group went on to win the "best new band" contest at Telluride...an honor previously bestowed on groups such as the Dixie Chicks and Nickel Creek. Malani left Bearfoot to attend Stanford University where she finished her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Now she is back with a compelling debut solo album and ready to travel and promote her music.
Right now traveling the world has taken center stage in Malani's life, and after spending the winter in Southeast Asia, she is planning to head to South America for the fall to brush up on her spanish. The travel bug will take her to India, Nepal, Tibet, Mongolia, and Turkey in the winter and spring before heading back to "the states" to put her energy and new experiences into her music. |
